The Adams State distance runner is turning into a certified superstar after her performance at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
Gracie Hyde is absolutely on fire.
The Adams State graduate student broke two NCAA Division II records over two days at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Azusa, California, pocketing new standards in the 3,000 meter steeplechase and the 1,500m.
Hyde clocked marks of 9:28.17 in the former and 4:08.95 in the latter event, registering runner-up and ninth-place finishes over two races which featured some of the nation's best collegiate and professional talent.
Hyde chipped off 11 seconds off her former best in the 1,500m (4:19.20) and 35 more in the 3,000m steeplechase (10:03.05), the latter effort earning Hyde an automatic 'A' standard into the U.S. Olympic Trials in June.
The former Arkansas athlete has rocketed out to fantastic start at Adams State, clocking a 4:30.90 mile in February in Washington and three NCAA Division I Indoor Championship titles in March, including individual wins in the mile and 3,000m.
