Collin Gilstrap Bursts From Fifth To Win College Men's 1500M At Penn Relays

Collin Gilstrap, Stony Brook Track and Field freshman, makes a move to jump from fifth place up to first in College Men's 1500m Championship at Penn Relays.

Stony Brook track and field freshman Collin Gilstrap comes out of nowhere to move up from fifth place into first place in the first heat of the College Men's 1500m Championship at the Penn Relays 2024. 

Gilstrap's time of 3:42.53 was good enough to secure first place among the two heats. He was followed by Devon Comber of Villanova (3:43.25) and Edwin Klanke of host school Penn (3:43.52). 

At the Raleigh Relays in March, Gilstrap came in tenth in the 1,500m race and broke a school record with a time of 3:41.03.

Texas A&M runner Ondrej Gajdos finished with a time of 3:45.03, good for the eighth-best time in the 1500m.
