Up to this point, the NCAA cross country season has been about testing line-ups and getting prepared for the championship part of the year. There have been some important performances for sure, but every race has been run through the prism of how it will impact teams in the final three weeks of the year. 

That part of the season is now upon us with conference championship weekend--a time when coaches and teams (with a few exceptions) throw everything they have into winning a conference title.

• After Michigan took the title last year, the Wisconsin men grab ahold of the Big Ten once again, led by a 1-2 finish from Morgan McDonald and Oliver Hoare.  

• Sharon Lokedi of Kansas wins her third Big 12 championship in-a-row, while Iowa State also three-peats in the team race. 

• Weini Kelati and Ednah Kurgat are the first two across the line at the Mountain West Championships, but Boise State is still able to upend New Mexico and snap the Lobos’ 10-year winning streak at the meet.

• The depth of the Colorado women carries them to victory in the women’s race at the Pac 12 Championships. 

• After putting up a perfect score at the West Coast Conference Championships in 2017, the BYU men once again dominate with five in the top eight in this year’s meet.
