Analysis:
Head coach Keith Vroman redshirted his top three runners last season in Kigen Chemadi, Jacob Choge and Lebo Mosito. Chemadi is a 13:46 5k runner who placed 23rd at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in 2017. Choge has a personal best of 13:39 and took 34th two years ago. And, Mosito comes from Cloud County Community College where he won three junior college titles.
This year the Blue Raiders are going ‘all-in’ with their top three and add a highly touted Kenyan freshman named Hilary Kimaiyo. Kimaiyo doesn’t have any track stats to his name but according to coach Vroman he is the best recruit he’s seen in Kenya during his tenure at Middle Tennessee. If Kimaiyo can develop right away this Middle Tennessee State team will be a formidable top-25 program.
