Analysis:
Michigan State returns their top five runners who combined to place 11th at NCAA XC last fall, led by All-American Annie Fuller’s impressive 21st place finish after meniscus surgery. The redshirt senior then produced her strongest spring yet on the track in mid-distance events, clocking PBs of 2:08 and 4:17 and just missing national qualification in the 1500m.
The supporting cast of Maggie Farrell, India Johnson and Jeralyn Poe all placed within the top 90 at NCAA XC last year. Farrell did not compete outdoors, but Johnson and Poe both competed at the NCAA East Regionals in the 10K and recorded PBs of 33:54 and 34:01, respectively. Senior Lynsie Gram did not compete at NCAA XC last year, but was 126th in 2015 and 116th in 2017, plus recorded PBs of 16:23 for 5K and 33:38 for 10K this spring.
