Analysis: 

With the bitter taste of a disappointing third place NCAA finish in 2018 still fresh in their mouths, the Adams State women, who return everyone in 2019, are prepared to wreak havoc in their revenge tour this season. And with six All-Americans on a team that has won a record 17 national titles, the Grizzlies figure to be especially potent this fall.

Adams is always comically loaded, but this roster is deep even by Damon Martin’s standards. The Flanagan twins, Eilish and Roisin, are back for their senior cross seasons. The duo have combined for 19 All-American honors in their illustrious careers. Eilish enters the season as the individual favorite after finishing runner-up at NCAAs in 2018.

Sophomore Stephanie Cotter became an instant star in her first year on campus as she placed top 10 at cross nationals before sweeping the indoor mile and outdoor 1500m NCAA titles in the spring. Another step forward could see her challenge Eilish for the top spot this fall.

The experience of the rest of the roster makes Adams State the overwhelming favorite to win title No. 18 in Sacramento on Nov. 23. The Grizzlies have three other All-Americans beyond their stud front trio, depth that no other team can hope to counter if they all stay healthy in 2019.
