Sydney McLaughlin will run her first individual 400m since May of 2019 on Friday at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California. 

McLaughlin, the silver medalist in the 400m hurdles at the 2019 World Championships, set her personal best in the 400m of 50.07 in 2018 during her freshman year at Kentucky. McLaughlin is also entered in the 100m hurdles. Two weeks ago, she ran the high hurdles for the first time in seven years and clocked a personal best of 13.03.

Other names to watch include Ameer Webb. Webb, fifth at the 2017 World Championships, is scheduled to race the 100m and the 200m. This will be his first competition since 2019. 

Paralympic medalist Blake Leeper headlines the men’s 400m. Leeper has a personal best of 44.38 and place fifth in the 400m at the 2019 U.S. Championships. 

The women’s 100m features Candace Hill who is coming off a third place finish in the 200m at last week’s meet in Miramar, Florida. Hill ran 22.43 to finish one spot ahead of Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah. Hill’s personal best in the 100m is 10.98 from 2015.
