Hosted by North Monterey County, the Earlybird Invitational has traditionally been the kick-off for the cross country in the Central Coast Section.  The meet also attracts a number of quality teams from outside the CCS.  Races are run at Toro Park in Salinas, the host of the CCS championship meet in even-numbered years.  Course records are held by Matthew Petrillo of Los Gatos (15:12) and Gunn's Tori Tyler (17:16) over the 3 mile distance.
