The 56th annual Trinity Invitational is the oldest Cross Country meet in the state of Kentucky and has become a regional battleground for the best runners in the Southeast and Midwest. Over 3500 Runners from 4th to 12th grade (120 Teams) will converge on Louisville, KY on September 15th, 2012. In the 2011 boys varsity race alone, 22 runners raced under 16 minutes and 120 under 17 minutes in the 5000m. This elite meet takes place at the site of former NCAA Southeast regional, Division II and NAIA Nationals, and the future home of the 2012 NCAA Cross Country Championship, E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park. First place teams from Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Mississippi, West Virginia and Kentucky have attended or are planning to attend.
